Grimshaw Architects recently announced that construction is set to resume on Manhattan’s dazzling daylit Fulton Street Transit Center after a lengthy delay due to budget cuts. The shining four-story structure is topped with a gigantic oculus that floods the interior with daylight, reducing the amount of energy consumed by artificial lighting. The center, which is set to be completed in 2014 , will host a retail center and will provide access to 12 subway lines and the World Trade Center PATH station.
